Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Public Procurement

In focus: On July 31st 2015, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Public Procurement which entered into force on August 12th 2015, with the exception of provisions pertaining to the obligation of the purchaser to approve the annual procurement plan, which shall be applicable as of January 1st 2016 (hereinafter: “Amendments to the Law”).

Arcana

CSJ has completed a series of Greenfield agreements on the construction of recycling plants on behalf of Arcana, specifically for the needs of the French market and in accordance with French and English law. The plants will be constructed in several cities in France, and the total value of the deal is 10 million euro. The entire project was led by attorney Goran Cvetkovic.

Law on Legal Practice

In focus: the new Law on Legal Practice (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, no. 31/2011) which came into force on May 17, 2011 (from here on referred to as: the “Law”) stipulates the rules, conditions as well as forms for practice of law, rights and duties of attorneys at law and law trainees, together with the work of the Bar Association. The most significant changes introduced by this Law include the mandatory professional indemnity insurance for attorneys, the establishment of the Directory of Law Partnerships, the establishment of the Attorney Academy and the attorney exam, as well as the requirements for registration of attorneys– foreign nationals with the Serbian Bar Association.

Law on Preventing Population from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke

In focus: the Law on Preventing Population from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke came into force on May 15th, 2010 (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, no. 30/2010) (hereinafter referred to as: the “Law”) and on October 20th, 2010 the Rulebook on the form and content of the sign ‘no smoking’, the sign ‘smoking allowed’ in a certain area, the way of posting the signs, the form of reports on the violation of the smoking ban, the type and manner of collecting evidences of smoking and the manner for determining the presence of tobacco smoke in a space where smoking is prohibited, as well as the form for collection of the fine on spot (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, no. 73/2010) (hereinafter referred to as: the “Rulebook”) came into force.
