The amended Law on Enforcement and Security Interest has entered into force on 3 August 2019, and shall for the most part become applicable as of 1 January 2020. The main reason for rendering the Law is to resolve all issues arising from its application, primarily by removing any flaws from certain articles that contained incomplete and insufficiently clear provisions, as well as by introducing new legal solutions.
The Law on Copyright and Related Rights has recently been amended and is in force as of 26 September 2019. The novelties provided aim to harmonize provisions of the national law with those of the relevant EU directives, establish a more efficient system of legal protection of copyright and related rights, and a more effective collective exercise of such rights.

Appointed as legal advisor to the NCR campus project, CSJ was in charge of the due diligence report and all contracts that marked the beginning of construction of the largest technology camp of this American corporation in Europe. The campus building, whose foundation was laid in mid-May in Block 42 in Milutin Milankovic Blvd, will occupy an area of approx. 30,000 m2, with two underground levels for parking, a ground floor for retail and catering facilities, and seven additional floors offering modern office space. Attorneys Goran Cvetkovic and Mina Skoko led the team participating in the successful realization of this 90-million-dollar investment.

As legal representative, CSJ participated in all phases of purchasing company Verano Motors LLC, from the bankruptcy procedure to project financing and purchase of the building – shopping center “Zira” in Ruzveltova Street. Attorney Goran Cvetkovic headed the team which executed this business transaction in late December 2018.
Having in mind the number of illegally constructed facilities which are subject to legalization, the main reason for adopting this Law is to enable more efficient implementation of the procedure for legalization of illegally built facilities in the Republic of Serbia, and to influence adjunctively on the prevention of illegal construction as well as the disposal of such facilities.
