Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Foreign Exchange Operations

The new Law’s primary objective is to ensure the free movement of capital that relates to portfolio investments and financial credits and loans with a maturity of less than one year, as well as the harmonization of legislation with international standards in the field of prevention and detection of money laundering and terrorist financing.

Law on Foreigners

The Law on Foreigners, which entered into force on April 3 2018, shall apply from October 3 2018. The main purpose for adopting the Law is to harmonize the national system in the field of controlling the circulation and status issues of foreigners with the directives of the European Union which regulate the specified area.

Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Personal Income Tax

The Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Personal Income Tax has become applicable as of January 1st 2018, unless otherwise indicated. The purpose of the novelties envisaged by the Amendments to the Law is to incite entrepreneurship, eliminate obstacles for initiating and conducting business through the establishment of tax exemption, and reduce the gray market.

Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Value Added Tax Law

The Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Value Added Tax Law was adopted on December 14th 2017 by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, and applies from January 1st 2018, except for provisions where another application date is indicated.

Law on General Administrative Procedure

In focus: June 1st 2017 marks the beginning of application of the Law on General Administrative Procedure whose main goal, among other, is modernization of the administrative procedure and more effective realization of public interest and individual interests of citizens and legal persons in administrative matters.

Law on Housing and Building Maintenance

In focus: On December 22nd 2016, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Housing and Building Maintenance which came into force on December 31st 2016.

Law on Enforcement and Security

In focus: On December 18th 2015, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Enforcement and Security Proceedings, which enters into force on July 1st 2016, except for provisions of the Law relating to the obligation of the Chamber of public enforcement officers and the competent minister to adopt regulations for the purpose of implementing the Law, which became applicable as of December 29th 2015.
