Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Company Law

In force as of 1 April 2020 are provisions of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Company Law concerning the introduction of two new financial instruments: 1) reserved own share and 2) right to acquire a share issued by a limited liability company.

Employers’ obligations during the state of emergency due

Pursuant to the declared state of emergency on the territory of the Republic of Serbia due to the pandemic of the corona virus Covid-19, the Regulation on Organizing the Work of Employers during a State of Emergency became applicable as of 16 March 2020.

Law on Amendments and Supplement to the Law on Contracts and Torts

The Law on Amendments and Supplement to the Law on Contracts and Torts enters into force on 11 March 2020, with the main novelty being that, for the validity of the consent or power of attorney given to conclude an agreement or to undertake other legal work in the form of a solemnized document or notarial deed, it is sufficient that the signature on the given consent or power of attorney is certified.

Staff Leasing Law

The new Staff Leasing Law, applicable as of 1 March 2020, has finally brought about the regulation of so-called “employment through lease” (lease of employees), an area which, until recently, firmly belonged to the “grey zone”. The Law aims to align Serbian labour regulations with the directives of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU on temporary agency work and the International Labour Organization’s Private Employment Agency Convention no. 181.
